I learned this the hard way. I thought the problem was a lack of willpower… Or that I wasn’t “strict enough with my diet.” Or that I just wasn’t exercising as hard as I should…

It turns out that bloat is our gut signalling some sort of inflammation.

Our bodies have evolved to digest natural foods. But modern foods are made out of additives, preservatives and other harmful chemicals… All of which our bodies can detect as poison. And when that happens, it tries to get rid of it.

So our gut thinks the food we eat is a threat – an invader that’s not welcome. It causes our gut lining to become inflamed and extra sensitive. And as a defense mechanism, it holds water to try to heal itself…

And that’s what makes us look and feel puffy. We see it in the mirror and in our clothes. Our belly can look two sizes bigger by afternoon. Waistbands feel tight and jeans won’t button.

We deal with on-and-off constipation or sudden, urgent loose stools. There’s more farting, burping, and visible bloat. Sometimes we even react to “healthy” foods, and it feels random.

And we feel it, too. We feel heavy, tight, and uncomfortable in our own skin. After meals, we get cramps, gurgles, or feel a little sick. It’s hard to fall asleep because our stomach won’t settle...

We start to worry about meals and plan our day around bathrooms. Our mood drops because we don’t feel well.

This is how inflammation is silently attacking our body – and we don’t even know it…

It just manifests as bloat. We think that’s all there is to it…

But the reality is…

Inflammation Causes Bloating In

3 Different Ways:

I discovered that bloating was just a byproduct of inflammation affecting our body. Here are 3 ways inflammation causes bloat:

#1 Inflammation causes bloat by triggering water retention

You know those days when you go from feeling fine to feeling puffy, from your normal‑sized tummy to looking two sizes bigger after just one meal? That’s usually your body sensing an irritant from food, which causes it to release inflammatory signals.

These signals result in what doctors call a “leaky gut” so extra fluid moves into nearby tissues.

That can cause swelling, puffiness, or bloating… And it results in our body holding more water than usual.

Many food manufacturers make these inflammatory ingredients hard to spot by hiding them under fancy sounding names on the label… But once you know what to look for, you’ll be able to avoid foods that cause inflammation with simple, affordable substitutes…

#2 Inflammation causes bloat by causing stress
